This is an introductory course in computer science for developing foundational skills in computer programming using Java. Algorithms will be implemented as programs in the Java programming language. Topics covered include: primitive data types, control structures, arrays, strings, I/O, basic recursion, documentation, testing and debugging techniques; object-oriented programming concepts and application; algorithm efficiency. By the end of the course, students should have had a general understanding of how to develop (design, code, and debug) programs in Java.
